i have so many marinéres collected from my time in paris, and i wear them all the time. so many, in fact, they have their own drawer just for stripey things. my other favorite thing to wear is big men's shirts, half untucked. and lastly, i love to mix black and white prints. sometimes i'll wear up to three of these pieces at once.
so something about me: i used to live in paris. went to art school there for a little while. learned so much about how to dress from les parisiennes, and now have lots of beautiful memories and striped shirts à la marinière. and every month i find myself in paris again between the pages of paris vogue...
i'm still so attracted to animal prints. done the right way, they can be so fierce and feminine.... speaking of fierce females, here's one: the late, extremely great louise bourgeois. a role model as a woman, an artist, and one hell of a stylish, sassy lady...
tommy ton of jak & jil just coined a new word for the all denim look: joutfit as in "jean-outfit" though hanneli looks lovely in her joutfit, me i prefer just a really great pair of jeans, like these ladies.... what about you? joutfit or no?
